One Word ("the App") is designed with your privacy as a priority. This policy explains how we handle your information.
We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or location. Your reading progress, reflections, and preferences are stored only on your device and never transmitted to us. The App uses crash reporting to help us fix technical problems — this collects anonymous technical data only, as described below.
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
This data never leaves your device. We cannot access it, and it is not transmitted to any server.
The App does not require registration or sign-in. There are no user accounts, passwords, or profiles.
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics (operated by Google) to automatically report crashes and errors. This helps us identify and fix technical problems. When a crash occurs, the following information is sent to Google's servers:
Crash reports do not include the content of your reading, reflections, prayers, bookmarks, or any personal information. This data is processed by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Firebase retains crash report data for 90 days.
If you enable daily reminders in Settings, notifications are scheduled locally on your device using the operating system's notification service. Your notification preferences are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to any server. You can disable reminders at any time in Settings or through your device's notification settings.
We do not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or behavioural analytics. We do not build profiles of how you use the App, and we do not share any information with advertisers.
We do not request the IDFA (advertising identifier) or use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, as we do not track users across other apps or websites.
The App does not currently offer in-app purchases. A future version may include the option to make a voluntary donation. If introduced, payments will be processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store — we will not receive, store, or have access to any payment information such as credit card numbers, only confirmation that a purchase was made. This policy will be updated when in-app purchases are added.
Your personal app data (reading progress, reflections, preferences) is stored only on your device:
Crash reports held by Firebase are automatically deleted after 90 days. To request earlier deletion of any crash report data associated with your installation, please contact us at hello@one-word.app.
The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The only data sent off-device is anonymous crash reports as described above, which contain no personal identifiers.
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
